A Gorgeous Spring Amaterra Winery Wedding

Alyssa and DC’s Amaterra Winery Wedding in Portland was nothing short of incredible. These two chose to tie the knot on May the 4th, and yes—there were a few fun nods to Star Wars woven into the day, especially during the speeches. It was such a playful touch that added to the joy of their celebration.

Originally, most of their wedding was planned to take place outdoors, but as is typical with springtime in Portland, the weather had other plans. With rain looming, everything was moved inside. But honestly? It didn’t take away from the magic of the day one bit. Everything turned out beautifully. We began with a sweet first look on the property, giving Alyssa and DC a few quiet moments together before the festivities began. Their ceremony took place indoors in front of massive windows, letting in soft natural light and keeping that connection to the outdoors. Towering floral arrangements created by the amazing Flowers by Almanac framed their ceremony space, and they were absolutely breathtaking.

Once the ceremony wrapped, the celebration moved into the reception space. One of the best little details about their reception? Their initials spell out ACDC, so of course they made their grand entrance into the reception to an iconic AC/DC song—it was such a fun moment that had everyone cheering. I love how spacious and open it is—it gave guests plenty of room to mingle, dance, and soak up every moment. The speeches that evening were a true highlight—each one captured Alyssa and DC so well, full of laughter and sweet memories. The dance floor was packed for most of the night, with everyone celebrating right alongside the couple.

Alyssa and DC have been an absolute joy to work with from day one. They’ve been so kind and thoughtful throughout the whole process, and capturing their day felt like such an honor.

Amaterra Winery is such a gem of a venue tucked into the West Hills of Portland. Surrounded by forested hillsides and sweeping views of the valley, it offers a unique mix of modern architecture and natural beauty. The floor-to-ceiling windows in both the ceremony and reception spaces bring the outdoors in, and the entire space feels luxurious yet inviting. It’s truly one of Portland’s most stunning wedding venues.
