Sadie and Russell flew from New Jersey to California for their Taft Point Engagement Session in Yosemite National Park. These two got engaged in Yosemite the previous year when they took a fun trip to California. This is when Russell decided to pop the question at Tunnel View one of the most iconic location in Yosemite National Park.
We decided to start by Tunnel view for their engagement session as this is where they got engaged. We then drove to Taft Point and hiked to reach some of the best views there are in the park. Sadie and Russ wanted to be immersed in the park and really get it transmitted in their images. Hiking to Taft Point was perfect for that.
You’ll find amazing views in Yosemite anywhere you go, but enjoying sunset at Taft Point is one of the most special experience to have in the park. I’m so glad Sadie and Russ could experience all of it for their engagement session.
A little more information about Taft Point
Taft Point is located outside the Yosemite Valley about 45 min to 1 hour drive from Yosemite Village. It offers some of the best views in Yosemite. From Taft Point you’ll be able to see Yosemite Falls and El Capitan.
The hike itself is easy and will take through the forest first before being able to enjoy the views. It’s a short and fun hike. Only 2.3 miles round trip. Make sure to stay on the trail and pack your trash back with you when you go.
Taft Point is very impressive, as you are standing on the edge of everything. If you are scared of heights this can be a great challenge. Definitely worth experiencing when traveling to Yosemite National Park. Taft Point is famous for enjoying sunset. Which is the best time to see it at. This place stays magical anytime of the day though! Enjoy the hike!
