A sunrise Cape Kiwanda Elopement in Pacific City, OR

Claire and Zachary’s Cape Kiwanda Elopement was an absolute blast! I always have so much fun with all my elopement couples but these two really made it even better! They wanted to have a private and fun day in Cape Kiwanda and so decided to start it early morning at sunrise. They booked a few nights at the beautiful Headlands Coastal Lodge and Spa so Zachary and I met by the hotel to start their day. We walked to the beach and picked the perfect spot for him to wait for Claire to do their first look. It was such a calm and foggy morning on the coast so it was perfect for an intimate day.

Once they saw each other they were ready to party and have the best time for their Cape Kiwanda elopement! We waited for them to feel ready to exchange their vows where they had scouted the previous day. It was the perfect location along the coast a bit secluded with just the sound of the waves in the background. Their vows were one of my favorite part of their day as they decided to take turn on different subject they wanted to share with each other. Seeing them react to each subject or questions was the sweetest. After their vow exchange they had their first dance on a beautiful song facing the ocean with Claire’s favorite view. To celebrate their day they had brought some champagne and donuts as well as a few letters that were written by family members and friends for them to read on their special day. This is one of the best way to include your family and friends on your day, having special letters to read always brings so much joy to couples eloping.

Overall we spent the morning exploring and enjoying the beautiful views that Cape Kiwanda offers, danced a lot and had the best time. I wish for every couple to have as much fun as these two did on their elopement day.

Cape Kiwanda is one of my favorite locations on the Oregon Coast. It has some impressive sand dunes and cliffs as well as rocks in the ocean. It is located 2hrs from Portland and only 1hr from Salem. The hotel on the beach is the perfect stay when planning to elope in Pacific City and you’ll also find one of the best breweries right across it. It’s the perfect location for a fun day on the coast!
