Romantic and dreamy sunset elopement at Cape Kiwanda
Emily and Eric’s elopement at Cape Kiwanda was the kind of day that stays with you, effortlessly beautiful and wrapped up in one iof the most incredible sunsets I’ve ever photographed at this location.
They chose to keep things simple and intimate, only inviting a couple friends to join them and to marry them. Their ceremony took place on the beach along the cliff of Cape Kiwanda tucked behind the rock formation you can only access during low tide. It felt peaceful, quiet but surrounded by the sound of the crashing waves in this natural beauty of the Oregon Coast.
After their ceremony, we made our way to the top of Cape Kiwanda for their portraits, and the light was absolutely unreal. The sunset hitting the gorgeous colors of the cliff, in addition to the deep blue of the ocean and their white wedding attire created the dreamiest backdrop. Eric’s white suit popped perfectly along side Emily’s dress. they looked straight out of a magazine. I love how they mixed the nature of the place but somehow looked editorial put together.
After their time together, they joined their friends back for a quick drink at the Pelican Brewery to celebrate before their dinner back at the Headlands Coastal Lodge.
Cape Kiwanda is one of those places that always feels a little magical, but this evening felt extra special. Between the glowing light, the crashing waves below, and the quiet joy between Emily and Eric, the whole day had an almost cinematic feel to it. It was a beautiful reminder that elopements can be simple and still absolutely unforgettable.
