For their Painted Hills Engagement Session, Amanda and Alex wanted to represent a part of their life in Oregon. They reached out to me for their California wedding and I was so excited we could also capture their engagement in such a gorgeous location in Oregon.
Their Painted Hills Engagement Session could not have been complete without bringing their two sweet dogs who tagged along with us. I love when my couples are able to bring their dogs as they are part of the family. Amanda and Alex love adventuring and all things outdoors. Living in Bend, they are used to have such an amazing playground for all activities. So choosing one Oregon’s seven wonder could not have been more perfect!
When we arrived we started their session in one part of the park to capture some of the deepest colors you can find on the hills. I love that they picked this place because it offers so many amazing backgrounds in all sort of orange and yellow hue. It’s the perfect way to compliment a sunset engagement session. We then headed to a few different locations to finish by the famous hills.
The Painted Hills are listed as one of the seven wonder of Oregon which makes it the perfect place for couples looking to have their engagement session and capture a piece of Oregon in their images. They are part of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, located in Wheeler County, Oregon. It is about a 2hours drive from Bend, Oregon and 4hours from Portland. When planning your session in this magical geological place I always recommend planning over 1hr to make sure to have time to explore the different areas it offers as they are breathtaking and worth the long drive.
