The West side of the Cascades Range Mountains in Oregon is known to be rainier than the East side of the mountain and we didn’t escape the rain for this Mt Hood engagement session. Renting a fun Airbnb in the Mt Hood area in Oregon is one unique option to celebrate your relationship. The mountain cabins and Airbnb’s in Mt Hood are perfect to get this mountain forest vibe. What I love the most about the forest in Oregon are the beautiful shades of green you find from the different foliage to the dark pine trees to the bright moss on the trees. They give this moody vibe you don’t find anywhere else but in the Pacific Northwest.
Renting an Airbnb in Mt hood can be the best option when you can’t avoid the forecast. If you’re looking for the cozy vibe of your own home but want to make a fun adventure out of your engagement photos it can be really fun to rent an Airbnb. You’ll have the whole place to yourself and will be able to explore the area too. The Woodlands House in Mt Hood Oregon is one of my favorites Airbnbs. Surrounded by the dense forest, this little gem hidden in the mountains will make all your dreams come true. It was raining all day and we had the chance to utilize this amazing mountain cabin to start their engagement session before heading outside and rocking it under the rain.
When planning a trip to Mt Hood Oregon, here are the things you can plan to do on a few day trips. I highly recommend you first take the scenic highway to enjoy the views over Mt Hood, it’s absolutely breathtaking. From the lakes reflecting the mountain and the hidden waterfalls, you’ll find a range of activities to appreciate this area in Oregon. In the southern part of Mt Hood here is what I recommend for a fun weekend getaway.
One of my absolute favorite. Trillium Lake is one of the best views you can get over Mount Hood and if you get lucky enough and have a clear day you’ll be able to see its reflection on the lake. Trillium Lake campground closes for the winter so they do close the road that takes you down to the lake directly. Though, you can park and hike down to the lake easily. Surrounded by pine trees the picturesque view will blow your mind.
The Tamanawas Falls is an easy 3.5-mile hike. Cold Spring Creek, inside of Tamanawas Falls, thunders over a 110-foot lava cliff near the eastern base of Mount Hood. It makes the perfect backdrop for your engagement photos.
As I just mentioned before one of my favorite thing about Trillium Lake is the perfect reflection of the landscape you can see in the lake. Just like Trillium Lake, Mirror Lake will give you these amazing views. And it’s only a 2 miles hike round trip. Easy access for epic views.
