The day we decided to meet in Hug Point for their engagement photos, it was raining, gloomy, and very foggy. A typical day on the Oregon Coast! But as soon as Jordan and Danny arrived it completely stopped raining and we were able to enjoy Hug Point for about 2hours without any change in the weather. I have to say we got super lucky!
Jordan and Danny are originally from Maui, Hawaii, and decided to leave a few years ago stopping by California first to start their new journey. After a few months on the mainland, they decided to move out to Portland Oregon, and follow their dream life and job. What I loved the most about them telling us their story is that they listened to their gut and took a big step in their life to build a life they always wanted. I can’t wait to see where life takes them on this new journey.
About Hug Point
Hug Point State Recreation is a beach located on the Oregon Coast about 15 min south of the famous Cannon Beach. And it’s only a 1,5hr drive from Portland. Which makes it ideal for a fun weekend getaway. The scenery at Hug Point is absolutely stunning. You’ll be able to see giant rocks and cliff walls surrounding you with deep green forest.
When visiting Hug Point it’s best to check out the tides for the day. When the tide is low you can easily access the different parts of the beach and have a great walk along with the beauty it offers and all the marine life. What we loved the most was the different little caves and the waterfall that falls on the beach and make it’s way to the Pacific Ocean.
