A Fall Lake Tahoe Engagement Session

Alicia and Kody’s Lake Tahoe engagement session was an absolute dream. Between the sweeping lake views and the most magical golden-hour light, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful evening. We planned their session for the fall, which gave us that perfect mix of warm weather and crisp air—ideal for hiking around and exploring the area without the summer crowds.

We began the session near Chimney Beach and wrapped up at Secret Cove, where the iconic clear water and massive granite boulders created that classic Lake Tahoe feel. We stuck to the Nevada side for this session, which offered a great mix of privacy, scenic overlooks, and rugged shoreline. The whole evening felt peaceful, adventurous, and totally true to them.

Lake Tahoe is an iconic destination for couples looking for stunning natural backdrops, and the Nevada side offers some of the most peaceful and scenic spots. Unlike the more developed California side, Nevada’s shoreline tends to be quieter and more rugged, with hidden coves and dramatic overlooks. Chimney Beach is known for its scenic hike, pine-covered trails, and beautiful rocky shoreline. As the sun started to dip lower, we headed to Secret Cove, a tucked-away gem famous for its turquoise water, massive granite boulders, and incredible sunset views. Both spots are perfect for adventurous couples who want that quintessential Lake Tahoe engagement session vibe with a bit more privacy and wild beauty.

Alicia and Kody booked me for both their engagement session and their upcoming elopement, which I’m so excited about. It’s been so fun planning two totally different experiences for them. For this one, they brought along their pup, who was the perfect little sidekick and made their portraits feel even more personal and playful.
