Nicole and Jackson’s wedding at Black Butte Ranch was the best summer party! From the start, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a quiet, traditional kind of day. It was colorful, intentional, and full of personality. They chose a tangerine and sage green color palette that could not have been more perfect for summer in Central Oregon. And it represented their personality so well. The florals were designed by the Posie Shop, who brought in all those vibrant tangerine tones layered with greenery. And Jackson’s linen green suit was such a fun statement, staying in theme with all the decor.
We started the day with both of them getting ready in separate homes around the Ranch. No rush, no stress, just enjoying all of it. Then came one of the best moments: Jackson pulled up in a gorgeous vintage white car for their first look. From there, they drove to the venue together.
Their ceremony took place right on the lawn, with the lake and mountains in the background (which never gets old here). It was beautiful and relaxed; guests felt present, connected, and part of it all. They exchanged meaningful vows in front of all of their guests; it was so sweet to witness. Afterward, cocktail hour took place out onto the patio, drinks in hand, people catching up, and the kind of atmosphere you want on your wedding day.
And then the party started! Nicole and Jackson didn’t ease into the reception; they went straight for it, bringing all the fun energy with them. They were out on the dance floor, surrounded by all their people, pulling everyone in and instantly shifting the energy. From then on, it stayed that way. Full dance floor, with no holding back from anyone present. During their reception, we snuck away for sunset photos just at the right moment for the perfect golden hour at Black Butte Ranch. With a perfectly clear sky that day, it was one of the best sunsets I’ve witnessed there. We also got the chance to be joined by the horses of the Ranch for some sweet portrait moments.
Once we were back, Nicole changed into her party dress, which set the tone for the rest of the night! I got to stay until the end of their day, finishing the reception with a sweet moment for them with a private last dance while everybody got out and ready for their send off. Nicole and Jackson were surrounded one last time by all their loved ones, and it was the perfect end to such a fun party, where they then took off with the vintage car waiting for them.
