Cape Kiwanda Engagement Session

We couldn’t have asked for a better day for Krystal and Taylor’s Cape Kiwanda Engagement Session. Krystal and Taylor wanted to represent their love story by picking a location like Cape Kiwanda for their engagement photos. These two babes got engaged by the ocean while visiting Hawaii so for them it just made sense to be by the ocean again to capture their love story. We decided to meet mid-January on the Oregon Coast and were rewarded with one of the best sunset. Krystal and Taylor were so much fun to photograph, these two just kept smiling and laughing the entire time.

Cape Kiwanda is one of my favorite location on the Oregon coast as it is really unique. From the top of the dunes you get some of the best views over the landscape that crashes into the ocean. Only about 2hrs from Portland and 1hr from Salem, it is one popular location on the coast to enjoy a good sunset on the weekend or go catch the waves. The best time to visit or get your engagement photos taken at Cape Kiwanda is obviously during sunset but also when the tide is low. It’s a fun place to explore along the dunes and see some marine life. I love taking my couples there for their session as it offers a variety of backdrops and it is always a fun little adventure.
