Planning a wedding in 2020 was not an easy task for all of the couples who planned on getting married that year. This Fall, Backyard weddings became the new popular way to still have a beautiful and meaningful ceremony. This is what Melissa and Kenneth decided to do for their wedding day, a fall backyard wedding in their own home.
They originally planned to fly to Florida and have a beach destination wedding in Sanibel Island, FL where they both use to travel to with their family. It was obviously going to be challenging to keep their original plans happening. Instead of flying their family and friends to Florida, they decided to celebrate in their own backyard. Freshly moved into their new house it was the perfect way to celebrate their new chapter as a married couple.
I absolutely loved how they were able to separate their backyard into different areas. It really represented a full wedding day in one location. They made their ceremony site small and intimate while the rest of their guest would stand by the cocktail hour designated area. A pathway would then take everybody to the reception beautifully decorated by their wedding planner. To make the party even more fun they hired two food trucks instead of a classic caterer which was fitting perfectly for their fall backyard wedding.
It may not have been their dream wedding location but it turned out to be the perfect one to celebrate with their closest family and friends.
