And we are back at the beautiful Dumbo in Brooklyn with Vivi and Tom’s couple session! Vivi and Tom decided to have their first trip ever in the amazing city of New York! And it was their dating anniversary!!! These two babes started to date on Valentine’s Day a few years ago. So what’s better than NYC to celebrate Valentine’s Day and your anniversary??? They were super lucky to be able to travel before this all Covid started and enjoy NYC the way everybody should be. I was so thrilled when they contacted me to photograph them, we spent so much time on the phone sharing cool stories and I couldn’t wait to finally meet them. Also, photographers, it’s always so much fun for me to meet other creatives thanks to my job and capture their love story.
Vivi and Tom are not engaged or married but they still wanted to remember their first trip together in New York City. This is something I always point out. You don’t have to be engaged to get professional photos taken in a place that means something to you. And I’m so glad they decided to always remember their stay. I’m also looking forward for us to meet again on their trip to the west coast! It sure is one of my favorite things about my job, meeting sweet couple like them and keep in touch afterward 🙂
We’ve decided to meet in the famous area of Dumbo Brooklyn and end their couple session on the Brooklyn Bridge. There was one thing they mentioned to me and it was to get the Manhattan skyline lit up in their photos. We were able to enjoy an amazing sunset on the Brooklyn Bridge and end with the most epic view you’ll ever get in the city at dusk! Make sure to scroll all the way to see this!
Dumbo Brooklyn is one of the neighborhoods I get to photograph the most while working in NYC and it’s not a bad place to be let’s be honest. I get to call Dumbo my office haha. There are a few places I always love to take a walk before starting the day with any session. And here are all my recommendations if you’re planning to visit Dumbo Brooklyn.
Let’s start with some restaurants or coffee places you should stop by while visiting Brooklyn. I remember one day being so hungry after a photo session and I had to stop get a quick bite. I tried for the first time the Pizzeria Ignazio’s and oh my god! Their pizza was so good my only regret was to not be able to carry a full pizza back on the subway with me. But usually what I always do is getting tea or coffee from either the Brooklyn Roasting Company located on Jay Street or One Girl Cookie so I can get a little sweet treat before heading out in the City. If you know me, you know how crazy I am about food in general! And if you are too, you better stop by the Brooklyn Time Out Market, I’m sure you’ll find exactly what you were looking for as they offer a variety of different food. And you want to know the best part about this building? You can go enjoy the view on their rooftop and balconies!
On another note, the famous things to see and visit while in Dumbo are, the famous Washington street with you over the Manhattan bridge, take a walk near it and start your walk along the boardwalk. Make a stop at the beautiful Pebble Beach to catch the best view over the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Skyline. Keep walking and take a look or go for a ride on the famous Jane’s Carousel. A must see it’s absolutely stunning. Before heading to the Brooklyn Bridge, you can keep walking along Brooklyn Heights and enjoy the view even more. Last but not least if you want to enjoy all of the skylines from the city, take one their ferry subway and let it take you somewhere you’ve never been. The ferry runs along Brooklyn, Dumbo, Greenpoint, and LIC and back to Manhattan. It’s a fun way to enjoy the city as well! I always recommend it if it’s a nice day out. Enjoy!
Dumbo is one of my favorite locations in the city to photograph my couples. See more photos from my previous session here.
